Vaping In The Office

For the last couple of days, I’ve been going to the office to work. Now that might not seem like an unusual thing to do, but for me it actually is, given that I mostly work from home or customer sites, and the office is usually empty except when we all turn up for meetings or things that can’t be done via Webex or Skype.

Yesterday was the first time I’ve been into the office in fact, since I ditched cigarettes in favour of vaping at the beginning of September, so I was a little unsure about how bold to be, and how it would be received by my non-smoking colleagues.

It turns out that everyone was delighted that I had given up “the evil weed” and am now doing something far less harmful to myself, and the reactions to my discreet vaping away at my desk were slightly anti-climactic if I’m honest. After a few curious questions, everybody lost interest and left me to it. This is particularly good given that winter officially arrived in the UK today (needed de-icer for the car this morning), and there’s no smoking shelter at the office.

So, having worried about how it would be received, I spent today chuffing away on my Riva without a care in the world.

To cap it all off, word has gotten around that I have quit smoking, and a couple of my smoking colleagues are asking questions about vaping too with a view to giving it a go.

Great!
