I was very kindly sent a sample of the Matchless Disposable electronic cigarette recently by Julian of www.matchlessecig.co.uk. Although Julian didn’t specifically request that I review the product for him, I decided to anyway, as I’m starting to get a taste for doing reviews – probably an ego or age thing, I don’t know.
The real reason he sent me the freebie was down to a comment I made on a forum, where I suggested that I’d tried a Matchless before, but hadn’t thought much of it, but it turned out that possibly I actually had been trying a completely different product. So this review is to a large extent, me putting the record straight and removing any doubt!
During the video, you’ll observe that I have a slight problem with mine, and that I’m visibly disappointed about it because the Matchless comes close to being the best disposable I’ve tried so far. Despite being priced nearly 25% higher than some of the other disposables appearing on the market at £6.75 plus shipping, I would actually consider paying the difference but for the “stuttering” problem you’ll see in the video.
I contacted Julian at Matchless and showed him the video review to see if the problem I had was a common one and he confirmed to me that it wasn’t and I seemed to have a faulty example. His reply was as follows:
As you can imagine I am annoyed that the review sample had an intermitent cut out fault. I’ve passed on your review to the manufacturers as I am sure being intermittent it is one-off fault rather than the norm (and its the first time that particular issue has surfaced). As you will be aware most e-cigs have a small percentage of faulty units and by the way where we have been made aware of this in the past we offer a no quibble guarantee.
I’m genuinely pleased to hear that the stuttering isn’t recognised as an inherent problem and that I may have just been unlucky. He also went on to explain that Matchless are actively working towards higher QC standards and that this example will be fed back to the manufacturers. I will be trying another one soon which I hope will be problem free, but I will update this review with my findings, as it is an otherwise excellent product.

I was sent one of these to try alongside some material to give to my local pub
I was actually quite impressed and having given it to the pub the barman was puffing away on it the other night every now and then and said he was surprised that there was a bit of TH which he enjoyed. The landlord is undecided about formally permitting vaping though
I was quite impressed with it to be honest and enjoyed it more than the Genie and I didn’t personally have any stuttering issues myself. Unfortunately having given it away I can’t try it again and would liike more to hand out and try again for myself as they seem to be popular when tried by smokers
I thought the throat hit was very good and the flavour was really nice too. In fact I’d like to get hold of the juice they use! Very reasonable vapour. Shorter than the Genie too
Overall an improvement for the ciggy lookalikies I feel
Cheers for the review Dave
