Clearomisers (or clearomizers if you’re American) are not my favourite things and I have happily shared that fact with anyone that will listen since they appeared about a year ago. Awful things that will give you mediocre performance only if you invest ridiculous amounts of time and effort essentially replacing all of the main components……
OK – calmer now. So I had no burning desire at all to try any new product with the name Clearomiser in the name, but Daz at safercigs.co.uk insisted on sending me a few to try – so I did!
The following video pretty much captures my total surprise when I discovered that they do actually wick, produce good vapour and throat hit given the relative high resistance and amazingly – just work!
In addition they are easy to refill straight from the bottle, don’t leak and no juice ends up in your mouth! There are rumours too that the coils may be repairable although I probably shan’t bother with that myself.
All in all, not a bad product and between filming this video and writing this article – I’ve continued to use the same one whilst home at the weekends and enjoyed it immensely!
I’d give them a try if I were you!
Yes, tell everyone you know to look on the web for e-cigarettes to check how
massive this industry is, and how large the
choice is for these superb products is. What really gets my goat, though, are the increasing number of posts in the media saying
how deadly they are. Apparently the big drugs companies – the producers of stop-smoking aids are backing an anti e-vape movement – less
so the tobacco companies (as you might assume) – as they tobacco companies are investing
in them. I can really appreciate the benefits of e cigarettes.
Just stating – that there is always a secret agenda with these self interested faceless types trying to ban electronic cigarettes
… our country’s government must do a lot more too. This makes me so angry. Thanks Review of the Vision Ego Clearomiser (Stardust).

I’m in USA and have been using clearomizers for a few months.
I usually buy from the same vendor, but have noticed differences each time I buy one. They are obviously made from multiple manufacturers and vary GREATLY in quality and performance. It’s strange they are never labeled very well.
My point is that I think that if I first tried with some of them, I’d never buy another.
I’m not sure why so many vape products seem to be this way?
Anyhow….happy vaping!
Steve
I’m a new vaper and picked up a couple of these last week as part of a bundle. I found them to be quite a pleasant vape initially, but they both leak out of the tip and I’ll quite often end up with liquid in the mouth. Also one of the silicon o-rings came out of one of them when refilling, although it doesn’t seem to have made it leak any more than it did before.
I’ve replaced them with a couple of Kanger T2s (already!) and I’m much happier with them.
I’m glad you found something that’s working for you Russell – nice one!
[…] is leaking onto the battery and it's really very annoying. I have tried these vision clearomisers Review of the Vision Ego Clearomiser (Stardust) and these kanger m3s KANGER M3 CLEAROMIZER COLOURED. I understand that it's all trial and error, […]
I have actually fallen in love with these Vision Clearomizers. The ones that I am receiving are of excellent construction. One thing that should be noted is that they are truly low-res and if you do anything over about 4 volts, you are going to burn the juice and above 4.5 volts the coils will burn. They give a great vape at 3.7 V and upping the voltage does nothing good. Been using mine for over a month now and only got a burnt taste when I was doing initial testing. At home, it is still the 2.7 ohm Boge cartos or dripping a 3 ohm atty at 6 volts for absolute best vape but away from home the Visions are both convenient and give a great vape if you don’t mistreat them (definitely 3.7 volt devices)
Just to let you know, I resolved the burnt issue on my stardust, it’s really rockin now! Doesn’t mean I’m gonna get more but it’s rockin. Also I completely resolved the burnt on a couple other ato’s also. My stardust and other ato’s are giving great burn and fresh taste.
I gave the coils a 5 minute soak in muriatic acid, yes pool acid. Diluted with water to 80%. On a stardust you have to take the assembly out of the plastic case of course, but the other’s I just dropped right in the acid. The coils start bubbling a bit, and the carbon just fries up. After you soak it, give it a good water wash, dry burn them and when you start seeing red, get a long skinny needle and just knock the loose carbon off in between dry burns. Dry burn it until all coils are red. Coils come out nice and shiny, bright red and free of odor. The muriatic acid kicks the but out of the carbon!
Anyways, like I said my stardust is rocking now with great flavor, a TH and serious vape production! My other ato’s are also rockin!
I’ll give the new longer wick stardust a try now that I know how to revive them maybe, but I’ma go tank soon.
Hope this method helps out everyone out there. You can get muriatic acid at pool stores.
Well, whilst the poor performance and quality remains a bit of a mystery, I have to say I’m a huge fan of your perseverance! You clearly have far more patience than I could ever muster 😀
Fair play to you, and I’m pleased you get to vape them in the end after all!
Dave
Im in USA, got them from a local vendor. Not sure where he acquired them.
The one that’s limping along, I fixed it up with parts from the other, but I cleaned it thoroughly and put fresh juice in it. All I got was some serious burnt toast vape, so I think it’s trash now also. Gonna hold onto it though incase I get some wick and wire, I’ll try to rebuild it. Maybe with stainless mesh wick if I can see that it wont short it out.
Update,
SD#2 tastes so horrible I decided to sacrifice it and pull it apart. Didn’t take much, it basicly fell apart in my hands. The whole coil is encrusted black and fell out when I opened it.
SD#1 is limping along, though leaking down the center tube and starting to taste bad. I also noticed that the clear juice I put in it, turns dark brown soon after I put it in. A juicy fruit juice.
This stinks because I don’t have much in the way of back up ato’s
Hi Nick,
It doesn’t sound like you’ve had much luck with these at all!
My first one eventually developed a leak and was chucked after about 3-4 weeks, but visibly remained intact, and showed no signs of falling apart right up until the end.
Your experiences are reminiscent of my “adventures” of the old CE2 and CE3 cartomisers (I.e. the falling apart), but Ive really found these Visions to be a much better effort.
Because so many other people (clearomiser sceptics like myself) have had good experiences with these, I have to wonder if you got the same ones I did. Where did you get yours from?
Ok, so I got two of these anticipating hassle free vaping.
At first they were both great. Within 6 hours on SD #1 the metal ring at the top started to come off with the tip which basicly makes it vulnerable to leaks. This also happened to SD #2 on day 3 of owning it.
On day 2 on SD#1 It was barely producing, so I poured the juice out and washed it out, did a little dry burn and it’s producing again. But that was just after 2 days of vaping.
On day 3 SD #2 isn’t producing, so I emptied the juice, rinsed it out and did a little dry burn, now the only thing coming out of it is a horrible burnt toast taste, I don’t think the wicks are wicking any juice at all.
I was so excited to get these, not really anymore. On day 3 only one of them is working and that’s after alot of maintenance and part of the cap ring being broken.
I have just finished my review after using these exclusively for the last 4 weeks and I can say these have been brilliant. I have had issues with cracking of the tube but of those supplied by a certain American vendor but those from Daz at Safercigs have been perfect.
